Basic Components of Helium Refrigerator in Liquid Helium Temperature Range

1,Circulating Gas System: Includes helium compressor, oil separator, and helium storage tank.

2,Liquid Helium Temperature Cold Box: A vacuum-insulated cold box containing multi-stage heat exchangers, helium turboexpander, internal adsorption cylinders, cryogenic valves, and measurement components.

3,Liquid Helium Storage System: Includes liquid helium Dewar, coaxial transfer line from cold box to Dewar, and liquid helium transfer line.

4,Control System: Includes hardware, software, configuration, and remote control.

5,Utilities: Includes liquid nitrogen storage tank, instrument air system, and cooling water system.

20K Helium Refrigerator

The 20K helium refrigerator uses a helium turbo reverse Brayton cycle to achieve cooling capacity at 20K. In this system, the cold helium gas below 20K cools the user equipment before returning to the cold box for cold recovery and recycling.

Main Components: Compressor,Oil filter,20K cold box (vacuum-insulated, with multi-stage heat exchangers, turboexpander, internal adsorber, cryogenic valves, and sensors),Control system and Helium buffer tank.

4.5K Helium Refrigerator

Large-scale helium refrigerators use compressors to generate high-pressure helium. Part of the gas expands in turboexpanders for refrigeration, while the remainder is gradually cooled in multi-stage heat exchangers before being throttled through a Joule-Thomson valve to produce liquid helium for user equipment. The evaporated helium returns to the cold box for cold recovery and recycling. Such systems are called helium refrigerators.
